LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 440/35-400 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.38 g, 1 h). Head of Athena left, wearing laureate and crested Attic helmet; behind neckguard, small owl. Rev. ΥEΛHTΩN Lion attacking stag to right. HN Italy 1270. Williams 167 (O107/R127). Lightly toned. Somewhat rough and with the usual die breaks on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
